Official statement from the National Emergency Operations Center

All public nursery, primary, secondary and tertiary institutions will remain closed, today, Friday, September 28.

This follows a unanimous decision by the executive body of the national emergency operations centre shortly after midnight.

The NEOC also recommends that private educational institutions remain closed.

This comes as present adverse weather conditions are expected to persist into the early hours of this morning resulting in continued flooding in low lying areas. In addition, some schools are already in operation as emergency shelters.  There is also the likelihood that the Barbados Transport Board will be unable to commence regular scheduled services on time.

Again all public nursery, primary, secondary and tertiary institutions will remain closed, today, Friday, September 28. (BGIS)
