SPEIGHTSTOWN and Mount Brevitor got the 2010 St Peter Ah Come From Independence Village Football Tournament off to a rousing start despite the inclement weather last weekend with victories at the Speightstown playing field.
Led by goals from former national footballers Richard Wood and Kenroy Skinner, Speightstown defeated Boscobelle 2-0 while Mount Brevitor edged Six Men’s 2-1. Ron “Ca Pow” scored both goals for the winners while Peter Corbin was on target for the losers.
The third game was abandoned with 15 minutes left due to a power outage. At that stage, defending champions Gays were leading Four Hill 1-0. (EZS)
