Rihanna has started 2013 with a bang.
The Barbadian songstress has notched her first award – Favourite R&B Artist at the People’s Choice Awards.
She was up against Alicia Keys, Beyoncé, Bruno Mars and Usher.
She tweeted and also put on Instagram: “Special bigups to the people who voted for me, it was worth it!! Thanks for being, not just consistent, but loyal! I feel special, having you guys to inspire me and to grow with me!!?Thank you and I love you #WINNER”.
The next award show is next month’s Grammys where Rihanna is slated to perform. (NS)
