FORMER Barbados Under-19 opener Jed Yearwood has been called up to play in the four Barbados trial matches tomorrow and Friday at Police Sports Complex, Weymouth, in preparation for next month’s inaugural West Indies Cricket Board Twenty20 Championship.Yearwood, who plays for Caribbean Lumber YMPC, has been named in Ryan Hinds’ team which will oppose a squad led by Carlton captain Marlon Graham. Two matches will be played each day, with the first bowling off at 9:30 a.m. and the second at 2:30 p.m.The Barbados selectors have invited free-scoring batsman Nekoli Parris of the Combined Campuses and Colleges, who are also competing in the tournament, to play in the trial matches.Barbados will host the first phase of the regional Twenty20 Championship from July 22 to 25 at Kensington Oval.
