Man escapes burning car

KELVIN CHARLES made a quick dash to safety after the vehicle he was driving caught fire along Hincks Street, The City, last Sunday night.
Charles, of Bridge Gap, Cave Hill, St Michael, said it was around 8 p.m. when he heard “a missing” in the engine and on checking he saw smoke coming from under the bonnet.
He said the car started to burn
and that prompted him to call the fire Service.
A tender from the Probyn Street headquarters under the command of fire officer Patrick Edwards and three other officers responded.
The fire was quickly brought under control as a small crowd of onlookers gathered at the scene.
