THE BARBADOS ROAD Safety Association (BRSA) has suggested that a more comprehensive approach is needed to save lives on the island’s roads.
In its review of 2013, president Sharmane Roland-Bowen said a combination of stronger laws, visible enforcement, introduction of smart technology and effective public education would be the best strategy.
Roland-Bowen said Barbados recorded 19 road fatalities in 2013, compared to 28 in 2012.
She noted that while education and public awareness contributed to this decrease, the BRSA would be intensifying its efforts further. (NB)
