Ease up on the searches!
This is the plea from one of the organizers of the popular weekend boat cruises which have been the subject of police searches for the past three months.
However, police have vowed to continue their actions once they receive reports of illegality.
The organizer, who said he was one of six people who held cruises on the Jolly Roger, told the DAILY?NATION that the police operations had resulted in a significant fall-off in patrons and the loss of thousands of dollars.
“The police have to realize that you can’t have 300 patrons on board a boat and end the cruise because they find a half-gramme or two grammes of weed,” the promoter, who requested anonymity, said. “Two or three bad apples should not be allowed to spoil the show.”
