MPs should cut salaries

IN THESE TOUGH economic times, Members of Parliament should lead by example and cut their salaries.
This suggestion came from Dr Ronnie Yearwood as he delivered a lunchtime lecture at the George Street headquarters of Democratic Labour Party (DLP) yesterday.
Yearwood, a law lecturer in London, who has a background in political science, spoke on the topic Developing A Strategy For The Current Economic Crisis.
Speaking to an audience that included Minister of Commerce and Trade Haynesley Benn, Yearwood said it was important for all Barbadians to realise that the current recession threatened to wipe out many gains made as an independent Barbados. (AH)
