Amidst a stream of invective from a group of mainly young women, police officers searched an area of Odessa McClean Road in The Ivy, St Michael, where a young man was on his back, handcuffed and looking skyward.
While one officer, when approached by the MIDWEEK?NATION for a comment, referred the reporter to police public relations officer Inspector David Welch, there was no problem getting their version of what happened from those onlookers on Monday.
“I was just here this morning doing my devotions and the gentleman . . . went to take off the pipe [connection] . . . to get some water in a bottle because we are Belle squatters,” one eyewitness said.
“And I saw the policeman just jump out the van and ask [him] what he have and [he say nothing] and [they] tell he don’t move. That is it!” (JS)
