Inniss rapped

If you’re looking for public employees who don’t work, you only have to look at those you “brought”.
That was the reaction of the National Union of Public Workers (NUPW) yesterday to Minister of Industry and Commerce Donville Inniss, who had warned public servants to go home if they did not intend to work with Government to turn around the economy.
NUPW general secretary Dennis Clarke, noting that he was extremely disappointed with the comments made by Inniss in yesterday’s DAILY NATION, explained he had “kept quiet on these matters regarding the cuts in the public service because I thought that negotiating would be the best way in which to deal with the issues.
“But the union wants the entire public of Barbados to clearly understand that the NUPW is not the Government of Barbados and therefore it has not contributed to the current economic situation that is there,” Clarke said.
