ALMOST A YEAR after it received proposals for the restoration of the old Empire Theatre located on Probyn Street, The City, Government is yet to make a selection.
Responding to questions on the rehabilitation of a number of old historic buildings in The City, Steve Devonish, deputy chairman of the World Heritage Committee, said the three proposals were still before Government while other places were being upgraded.
He was speaking during a Press conference at Kensington Court last Friday, where stakeholders met to discuss the Revitalization Bridgetown Alive Initiative.
“There are plans afoot for the Bridgetown Fairchild Street area . . . . There is a massive redesign proposal for that area,” he said.  (MM)
