Poultry threat!

BARBADOS’ POULTRY industry is under threat from major fast food outlets that want to import most, if not all, of their meat.
Chief executive officer of the Barbados Agricultural Society (BAS), James Paul, made this charge yesterday.
He said baking and other industries were also likely to be hurt because what he called “new entrants” in the local business landscape were looking to spend the bulk of their money on imported rather than local products.
Paul was speaking to the media during a special members meeting and seminar which the Barbados Egg and Poultry Producers’ Association held at the Lloyd Erskine Sandiford Centre.
