IT?WON’T?BE?business as usual at the Barbados Tourism Authority (BTA).
According to Minister of Tourism and International Transport, Richard Sealy, there will be an overhaul in the coming months at all of the missions, including the headquarters here, and a reduction in bureaucracy.
In an interview with the DAILY?NATION yesterday, Sealy said the changes were going to be structural, organisational and involving personnel, hinting that “there is bound to be a fall-out”.
“We are rationalising our operations across the board.
The BTA has a number of offices across the world and we are coming up with arrangements that make more sense given the realities of this particular age.
“We want to have more flexible operations for functioning in all of our markets. The situation in the United States is being closely looked at with a view to seeing how best we can deploy our human resources across that market and similarly
in the United Kingdom and Canada,” he said.
