Crash scare at house

AN ELDERLY MAN received the shock of his life when he came close to losing it after more than ten tonnes of metal paid an unwelcome visit to his home early yesterday morning.
Harold Sobers, 75, of Coggins Hill, St Andrew, was resting at home around 8:30 a.m. when the incident occurred.
“I was lying in bed when I hear this loud noise. When I came outside I saw this,” he said.
The “this” was an excavator which had fallen off the back of a truck and destroyed the front portion of his home. Sobers said he was thankful to God he was resting in the back at the time.
In fact, he said he could not even see the damage until he was helped outside; it was only then the full extent of what happened hit him.
