No ‘union busting’ here!

There was no notion of disrupting a trade union in the recent transfers to and from Alexandra School.
And in response to charges of “union busting” by the Barbados Secondary Teachers’ Union (BSTU), Minister of Education Ronald Jones said trade unions were recognized in Barbados.
“It’s part of our culture. Industrial relations operate on that. There is a social partnership,” Jones said recently.
In fact, he said he was one of the people who drafted the constitution of the Congress of Trade Unions and Staff Associations of Barbados (CTUSAB). (YB)
