BROWN SUGAR should be back on local supermarket shelves by this weekend.
General manager of the Barbados Agricultural Management Co. Ltd, Leslie Parris, said the shortage was due to a shipping delay out of Guyana.
“The shipment is now here and is being unloaded and we anticipate that within the next day or so, that the sugar will be available,” Parris stated.
A check with some shops yesterday showed that sugar was running low, or out of stock for about two weeks. (YB)
