Bolt in 9.63

BEING beaten by training partner Yohan Blake was the wake-up call Usain Bolt needed.
And now, the Jamaican sensation is one step away from obtaining the title of legend after winning the men’s 100 metres at the London 2012 Olympic Games in a new Olympic record of 9.63 seconds yesterday.
Blake was second in a personal best 9.75 seconds, and American Justin Gatlin snatched the bronze in 9.79, just edging compatriot Tyson Gay by one-hundredths of a second on the eve of Jamaica’s 50th Independence anniversary.
The old record was 9.69 set by Bolt four years ago in Beijing, China, when he also won gold in the 200 and 4×100 metres, all world record times.
Bolt revealed he was under pressure to perform after being beaten in both the 100 and 200 metres about four weeks ago in Kingston.
