Jazz up Bajan food!

BARBADIANS can add new life to their foods by substituting the main ingredients in their recipes with local foods.
Food and nutrition teacher at the Grantley Adams Memorial School, Sandra Murray, said if children and adults did not like certain foods they could jazz them up instead of cooking them the usual way.
Speaking yesterday at the school as it participated in the third annual Eat Bajan Day, Murray said: “Most people, if they have breadfruit, would roast it, cook it stretched out or in stew food. What I tried to do with the students is to make the dish interesting . . .  
“I always tell them, ‘Let us put a twist to it. If you don’t have English potatoes, use yams or breadfruit’,” Murray said. (LK)
