Go-ahead for teens?

Moves are afoot to allow teens to attend the doctor without their parents’ permission.
Minister of Health Donville Inniss says it’s time for legislative changes to allow teenagers under 18 to get reproductive and other health care without their parents’ permission, and he’ll be meeting with Cabinet colleagues soon to begin that process.
Inniss disclosed yesterday that he would have formal discussions with the Attorney?General and Minister of Family, Culture, Sports and Youth by January.
“We are preparing to move ahead . . . . We will shortly be meeting to forge ahead with discussions with the Chief Parliamentary Counsel’s Office and Cabinet towards making the necessary changes to the legislation,” he said in an interview with the DAILY NATION.
