A lot of talk with little substance. That is how Leader of the Opposition Bishop Joseph Atherley summed up Prime Minister Mia Amor Mottley’s televised address on Thursday night.
In fact, Atherley essentially dismissed the speech as Mottley begging for another term in office.
“Unfortunately, what we heard was an appeal for five more years beyond the current political cycle,” said Atherley yesterday in reaction to what was labelled a National Address by the Prime Minister.
Atherley said Mottley’s tone seemed “rather defensive and suggestive of a Government under pressure and struggling with a sense that it has failed to persuade Bajans that their lot has improved in the last year and a half”. (AC)
