Bajan soca artiste Leadpipe is hoping Sometime can be something in the International Soca Monarch competition.
Osvaldo “Leadpipe” Reid was one of three Bajans who competed in the semi-finals yesterday, but the only one to make it to the final stage.
The semi-finals, which took place at the Arima Velodrome, had 62 competitors – 32 in the Groovy Category and 30 in the Power Category.
“I am extremely happy on making it into the ISM Groovy Monarch Finals 2020. The song is doing very well in Trinidad and getting good rotation on the airwaves and in the fetes,” Leadpipe told Nation News.
“I will be going all out on February 21 for the finals and representing proud for Barbados.”
Sometime was the Tune of the Crop for Crop Over 2019 and placed third in the Soca Monarch Final.
He thanked his sponsors and team for the support.
The other Barbadians competitors were Marzville with Mid Section and Walkes with a very commendable performance of Champions of Colour. (NS)
