Both the Alliance Owners of Public Transport (AOPT) and the Association of Public Transport Operators (APTO) are calling for a meeting with Government to address the current situation as well as the future of the sector post COVID-19.

“I believe we need serious consultation, now and after COVID-19 passes, in regard to public transport. It is more than jumping on a ZR or minibus from point A to B, it is people’s livelihoods and investments.

“We make a tremendous contribution to the economy but are treated worse than second class citizens due to the stigma surrounding ZR culture,” said APTO chairman Kenneth Best. (CA)
