Businesses urged to guard against burglars

Burglars are taking advantage of the 24-hour curfew by breaking into businesses closed for the period.

So noticeable is the trend that officer in charge of the Bridgetown Division, Senior Superintendent Antonio Forte, has called on business people to check on their establishments every two to three days as well as to install closed circuit cameras to capture any activity. antonio-forte

“Crime is down generally, but it’s just that there has been a little uptick in commercial burglaries and I guess that is because people are looking for food and food products, drinks and that kind of stuff,” said Forte yesterday.  (SP)
