Craigwell: Netball will rebound

Netball, like all other sports, is facing a period of uncertainty but president of the Barbados Netball Association, Nisha Craigwell, is confident that once the COVID-19 crisis is over the sport will rebound even stronger.

The world pandemic has disrupted the 2020 domestic season while forcing a postponement of the Jean Pierre Under-16 Regional Championship in St Vincent.

Craigwell, who is also vice-president of the regional netball association, had previously announced plans to stage a Caribbean-African Cup and Wales were to tour Barbados later in the year.

“Our focus was on the Under-16 competition, where our young Bajan Gems were the defending champions, as well as the World Youth Cup Qualifier slated for Trinidad and Tobago. Those things are still the main focus once the crisis has passed and, of course, the BIIG Games later in the year. (KB)
