A 32-year-old Barbadian male is the latest person to test positive for novel coronavirus (COVID-19).

An updated press release from the Ministry of Health and Wellnness today said he was among 155 people tested yesterday. Of the 122 results returned so far by the Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory, he is the only positive.

This case is under investigation by the ministry because he has no travel history, and no known contact has been identified so far.

He brings the number of people in isolation to 35 and the number of confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Barbados to 81 – 43 females and 38 males.

No-one was released from isolation today, so the number of recovered people remains at 39.

Seven people have died as a result of COVID-19.

The public health laboratory has now conducted 2 160 tests since February 11. (BGIS)
