A police officer, a photographer and an animal inspector made a dog’s day today.

Police officer Wendel Robinson was driving along Bush Hall Main Road, St Michael when he saw an injured dog, which appeared to have been struck by a vehicle.

The officer stopped to assist the dog at the same time roving Nation News photographer Sandy Pitt was passing by. Pitt gave the officer a towel to make the animal more comfortable and called Wayne Norville, chief inspector of the Royal Society For The Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (RSPCA).

Norville quickly arrived on the scene to take the dog away for treatment. When contacted, Norville was unable to give additional information on the dog’s condition at the time.

More details as they come to hand. (KG)
