Demands to remove the Lord Nelson statue from Heroes Square are getting much louder.
That was clear yesterday as scores protested against the controversial monument of the former British military admiral, which many Barbadians believe do not belong in Bridgetown.
From 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., protesters who wore black during the Caribbean Movement for Peace & Integration’s Nelson Must Go demonstration, stood next to the towering monument.
It was surrounded by a barricade with the words “Tek Me Down” written in black spray paint as the group chanted the slogan.
They were protesting for the second straight Saturday. (TG)
