Illegal drunk driver Kevin Neptune, whose driving caused an accident that resulted in the death of an American visitor, was fined $15 000 for dangerous driving when he reappeared in the No. 2 Supreme Court yesterday.
Neptune, of Russia Village, St Thomas, had been arraigned with, but had pleaded not guilty to, causing the death of Susan Briggs, 39, on August 4, 2009, by driving the vehicle T 5271 at the Lancaster/Orange Hill, St James junction in a manner dangerous to the public.
He, however, pleaded guilty to the lesser count of dangerous driving.
In his defence, Neptune told the court: I just want to say I am sorry. It was a very long time ago and I do feel remorse for the deceased.” (HLE)
