A psychological intervention has been ordered for Darron Denico Austin as he serves out the remaining four years of a nine-year jail term imposed by the No. 5 Supreme Court for having a firearm.
Austin, 26, of Glebe Land, St George, pleaded guilty at an earlier Session of the Continuous Sittings to having a firearm and two rounds of ammunition on August 5, 2017.
He had also confessed to stealing a $13 860 surveillance camera belonging to the Crown in its rights as the Government of Barbados and damaging it sometime between January 4 and 5, 2013.
Yesterday, he threw in the towel to a fifth offence, under the Precious Metals Act, and pleaded guilty to making a false statement to La Romana Jewellers, on January 10, 2014, that he was the legal owner of certain jewellery. He was represented by attorney Safiya Moore. (HLE)
