Parents are waiting patiently at the gates of some northern schools as their children take the Barbados Secondary Schools Entrance Examination (Common Entrance).

From as early as 8 a.m., some guardians dropped their children at the Alexandra School in Speightstown and the nearby and Coleridge & Parry Secondary in Ashton Hall, both in St Peter, and wished them good luck.

At the gates of both schools, police officers were seen as students from primary schools, Luke’s Academy, All Saints, Elliot Belgrave and Gordon Greenidge, entered.

“I’m glad this day is finally here. I told my grandson to just do his best and when he’s done I’ll be here waiting”, said grandparent Asenath Sandiford.

This year’s Common Entrance was delayed because of the coronavirus pandemic. (TG)
