Participation in a failed drug smuggling attempt four years ago earned a Vincentian nine years in jail yesterday.

However, Andy Adrian Nelson Ferdinand could be back in his country by November, as only 95 days of his sentence remain.

Ferdinand, of Rose Hall, St Vincent, was back in the No. 2 Supreme Court for sentencing after he had pleaded guilty to possession, trafficking and importing 303.4 kilogrammes of cannabis on May 9, 2016.

He apologised to the court for the offences yesterday. (HLE)
