Two Government ministries are forging ties that could lead to the enhancement of sporting infrastructure for the youth.

Speaking on Tuesday during a courtesy call with director of women’s football at Aston Villa, Eniola Aluko, at his Sky Mall, St Michael office, new Minister of Sport Dwight Sutherland, said the ministries of sport and education were in the process of developing a paper to take to Cabinet before year-end, for the establishment of a sports school.

“As we seek to build out Barbados, we have to do it as a team. We have not defined which sports, but we know there are sports we’re looking at that can help us create a sporting economy; football, cricket, athletics. These are some of the key ones we’re looking at developing that sports facility, not just a sports school, but a sports infrastructure for the youth,” he said. (RA)
