The Ministry of Education may consider a shift system for infants and a blended approach of face-to-face and online classes for other students up to secondary school on the reopening on September 21.

It will be having consultations with groups of teachers next week to discuss the best approach for the Michaelmas term.

Schools were notified yesterday that Minister of Education Santia Bradshaw would meet with secondary school teachers on August 25 and primary school teachers on August 26 at the Gymnasium of the Garfield Sobers Sports Complex and with nursery school and special school teachers at different times on August 28, at the Samuel Jackman Prescod Institute of Technology.

In a memo sent to the teachers, the minister noted: “As we prepare to roll out an effective teaching and learning programme for the upcoming school term, I have commenced consultations with a variety of stakeholders regarding the reopening of our schools. I, therefore, welcome your input in these discussions and as such, arrangements have been made to facilitate your participation.” (MB)
