First-time gun offender Jamar Julien Ricardo Proverbs was released after he was deemed to have served his time when he reappeared in the No. 2 Supreme Court yesterday.
However, he will find himself back in court mid-March next year after he was ordered to check in to show what he had been doing with his freedom.
Proverbs, 24, a coconut vendor, of Crawford Road, Ellerton, St George, pleaded guilty at an earlier Session of the Continuous Sittings to having a firearm and five rounds of ammunition on August 25, 2017.
Senior Crown Counsel Olivia Davis prosecuted while Proverbs was represented by Krystal Fenty.
“I did just want to get home,” Proverbs told the court yesterday. “I did just moving with a friend and the friend run and left me.” (HLE)
