One in, six out of isolation

One new case of COVID-19 was recorded among the 346 tests conducted by the Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory on Friday, bringing the number confirmed to 181.

The 43-year-old female visitor, who is asymptomatic, arrived in Barbados on September 6 aboard Caribbean Airlines from Jamaica, having travelled there from the United States of America. 

Her positive result came after a second test and she is now in isolation at Harrison Point, St Lucy.

Meanwhile, six people will be discharged from the isolation facility on Saturday, reducing the number from 15 to 19. Recoveries have now increased to 164.

Barbados’ 181 cases comprise 94 females and 87 males. There were seven deaths.

To date, 19 790 tests were completed by the public health laboratory. (PR/SAT)
