The ruling Barbados Labour Party (BLP) tonight named trade unionist Toni Moore the candidate for the St George North constituency.

Moore, who is general secretary of the Barbados Workers’ Union, is the first woman to head that organisation.

She will replace Gline Clarke who represented St George North for the past 26 years.

Last Sunday night, he announced his retirement from elective politics to take up the post of High Commissioner to Canada, paving the way for a by-election.

More details to come. (Nation News)
