Self-confessed thief Margaret Patricia Maynard has had her vehicle and household possessions seized by a civil court order as one of her complainants tried to recoup losses in the range of $800 000.

However, said Deputy Director of Public Prosecutions Alliston Seale, when the lending institution which had a lien on the vehicle got its cut, and the household possessions were sold, the complainant got less than $100 000.

He was speaking yesterday as Maynard made another appearance in the No. 2 Supreme Court.

Maynard, 65, a former office assistant, of Kingsland Crescent, Christ Church, had pleaded guilty, at an earlier Session of the Continuous Sittings, to stealing $140 000 belonging to Kent Construction between March 2000 and December 2007 and engaging in money laundering between the same dates.
