Airport project not flying with residents

Residents along Fairy Valley and Wilcox Hill in Christ Church are finding the price of progress a little steep.

They have issues with dust, noise, reckless driving and the state of the road, saying it was not in good condition before, but since the Grantley Adams International Airport Airfield and Ground Side Pavement Improvements and Rehabilitation Project began last year, it had become much worse.

“I have called the airport more than once. Since March I have been complaining, but no one has come to us yet. I got to a night manager a time, who said they would contact the project manager and that was it. I’ve complained about the dust, the bright lights that spot in your house at night and the speed some of those drivers does be going, some does be flying.

“I suffer with asthma and now with COVID, you have to work from home but do you feel I can do that with all this dust?” asked resident Sophia Gaskin. (CA)
