The Democratic Labour Party (DLP) is pleased with how their campaign is going thus far.

Word of this comes from DLP spokesman and candidate for Christ Church West Central Stephen Lashley as he was speaking at a press conference earlier this morning.

“Were also pleased in relation to how our campaign has been going,” Lashley said.

“We have sought to run a campaign based on facts, based on putting the true state of our economy, what we have been doing over the last 10 years.

“And indeed our approach has been to focus the attention of Barbadians to the recovery of our economy,” he added.

The spokesman and Minister of Culture said the country had seen three consecutive years of economic growth.

And he pointed to this as evidence Barbados had emerged from the recession and noted the DLP was ready to harness that effort by diversifying the economy as pointed out in the party’s manifesto.

Lashley also explained the DLP was pleased with their manifesto launch which occurred Thursday night in Oistins, Christ Church.

“I can say to you that the response to our manifesto launch has been phenomenal,” Lashley said.

“All of our branches are registering significant demand for our manifestos and we are basically circulating that manifesto to the public,” he continued. (AD)
