As reported, Fidel Edwards will make a return to the West Indies Twenty20 International squad after nine years.

Cricket West Indies announced that Edwards will be part of a 14-member squad for three-match international home series against Sri Lanka, starting this coming Wednesday at the Coolidge Cricket Ground in Antigua.

Edwards heads a list of well-travelled, experienced players returning to the squad after absences for a variety of reasons. They include talisman Chris Gayle, the self-acclaimed “Universe Boss”, and the Trinidad & Tobago Red Force trio of all-rounder Dwayne Bravo, and openers Evin Lewis and Lendl Simmons.

The West Indies selection panel under chairman Roger Harper also named uncapped spinners, Akeal Hosein and Kevin Sinclair in the squad. The two spinners also feature in a 13-member One-day International squad for a three-match series against the Sri Lankans.

Squads:

T20I: Kieron Pollard (captain), Nicholas Pooran (vice-captain), Fabien Allen, Dwayne Bravo, Fidel Edwards, Andre Fletcher, Chris Gayle, Jason Holder, Akeal Hosein, Evin Lewis, Obed McCoy, Rovman Powell, Lendl Simmons, Kevin Sinclair.

ODI: Kieron Pollard (captain), Shai Hope (vice-captain), Fabian Allen, Darren Bravo, Jason Holder, Akeal Hosein, Alzarri Joseph, Evin Lewis, Kyle Mayers, Jason Mohammed, Nicholas Pooran, Romario Shepherd, Kevin Sinclair.
