COOLIDGE – A third List A hundred from Jonathan Carter failed to spark Barbados Pride in the minor playoff of the West Indies Super50 Cup and a tournament that started with great expectations ended in humiliation.
Hoping to salvage nothing more than what their name implies in their final match of the tournament, Pride were upstaged when Devon Thomas hit his third List A hundred to lead Leeward Islands Hurricanes to a seven-wicket victory at the Vivian Richards Cricket Ground in Antigua.
The result condemned the Pride to last in the six-team tournament that comes to a conclusion on Saturday, when favourites Trinidad & Tobago Red Force face Guyana Jaguars in the final at the Coolidge Cricket Ground.
