BARBADOS CRICKET ASSOCIATION (BCA) head of coaching and high performance, Hendy Springer says he wants to get players on the Barbados men’s and women’s teams moving again before they move into a programme of skill enhancement training.
This followed the announcement from the BCA yesterday that the local governing body had been granted special permission for its senior national squads to resume training under strict COVID-19 protocols, from Monday next week at Kensington Oval.
The training sessions will be conducted under the supervision of Springer and he said members of the Barbados Pride men’s franchise, which the BCA manages, had been lying low since their return from the West Indies Super50 Cup in Antigua and activity for the women’s national team had been dormant.
“The first thing is to get them all up and moving again and get them active again,” he said. “As time goes on, it will lead into their skills training and the refinement of those skills. (AR)
