46th death attributed to COVID

Barbados recorded its 46th COVID-19-related death, a 66-year-old female with a history of diabetes, hypertension and shortness of breath.

She was a primary contact of another patient with the viral illness who tested positive on May 5, 2021. She had a negative first COVID 19 test and presented for her second test on Monday, but passed away some time after returning home.

Minister of Health and Wellness Lieutenant Colonel Jeffrey Bostic in a statement expressed condolences to the family, describing the development as one of “great sadness”. (CLM)
