Five new virus cases recorded on May 19

Five people, one male and four females, were diagnosed with coronavirus (COVID-19) on Wednesday, May 19.

The new positives were identified from the 466 tests conducted by the Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory.

Fifty-one people were in isolation on Wednesday.

There have been 3 980 confirmed COVID-19 cases (1 927 females and 2 053 males) since the start of the pandemic in March last year. Forty-seven people have died from the virus.

The public health laboratory has conducted 164 406 tests, to date.

There have been 76 136 people vaccinated against COVID-19 (first and second doses), with 49 374 of those individuals fully immunised under the National Vaccination Programme. (BGIS)
