The process to relocate squatters from Rock Hall, St Philip is intensifying.

This morning during a media briefing, contracted field officers of the National Housing Corporation gave an update on the status of the project.

Field officers Antoine Williams and George Griffith said the first person should move into one of the seven houses being constructed in Carpenter’s Glade, Parish Land, St Philip on Monday.

So far, only one house – a one-bedroom wood and cement board structure – has been completed.

The field officers explained that the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic caused delays in the relocation process, adding that it took a while to ensure that all of the residents fully understood the legalities of the process.

Benoni Blackett, who expects to be relocated, said he was happy about the move. (SB)
