The Barbados senior women’s football team formally began their preparation for tomorrow’s opening clash with Panama with their first training session on Monday evening at El Colegio de Panamá in Panama City.

The team arrived in Central America late on Sunday after departing Barbados earlier that morning for the qualifiers in the Concacaf W Championships.

Led by head coach Mario Harte, the squad paid particular attention to their tactical organisation, fitness and shooting drills.

The late evening session should also help the team to acclimatise to the conditions as Thursday’s game against the hosts will be held at 8 p.m. local time or 9 p.m. Barbados time.

After Thursday’s match, the team will journey to the Dominican Republic on Friday to play their second group game against Aruba on February 22.  (NM)
