COVID-19 Update for March 31

The Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory identified 223 new COVID-19 cases (94 males and 129 females) from the 1 040 tests carried out on Thursday, March 31.

Of the positive cases, 39 persons were under the age of 18 and 184 were 18 years and older.

A total of 63 people were in isolation facilities, while 1 421 were in home isolation.

A 66-year-old fully vaccinated man died from the virus on Wednesday, March 30.

As at March 31, there were 375 COVID-19 related deaths.

The public health laboratory has carried out 613 322 tests since February 2020, and recorded 59 495 COVID-19 cases (27 562 males and 31 933 females).

Under the National Vaccination Programme for COVID-19, the number of people with at least one dose is 161 123 (70.5 per cent of the eligible population). The number of fully vaccinated is 151 166 (55.8 per cent of the total population or 66.2 per cent of the eligible population). The eligible population represents those who are 12 years and older. (BGIS)
