Barbados’ bid to remain in Group A of League B took another blow after a 1-0 loss in the first-leg against Guadeloupe marked their third consecutive defeat in the 2022-2023 Concacaf Nations League (CNL) football competition.

A first-half strike from Thierry Ambrose proved to be the winner at the Daren Sammy Cricket Ground, as the Tridents remain winless in the tournament and sit bottom of the table at the midway stage.

The result means Barbados’ quest for a first victory in international football for a year drags on, as the senior men’s national football team will travel to Guadeloupe today for the reserve fixture on Sunday afternoon.

It will be a must-win game for Barbados, as defeat would put Russell Latapy’s men on the verge of being relegated back to League C. (AGB)
