Scholarship and exhibition winners announced

Although fewer students received national exhibitions this year, there was an increase in the number of scholarships awarded.

Minister of Education, Tertiary and Vocational Training, Kay McConney made that announcement during a virtual presentation, where 34 students, who sat the Caribbean Advance Proficiency Examination (CAPE) or completed programmes at the Barbados Community College were highlighted.

This year, 12 students – six from Harrison College, five from Queen’s College, and one from The St Michael School – received national scholarships. Only six students received scholarships last year.

On the other hand, there were 36 exhibitions awarded last year, while 21 Barbados Exhibitions were awarded this year.

This year, one student from BCC received an Award of Excellence.

SCHOLARSHIP AND EXHIBITION WINNERS

Following is the list of scholarship and exhibition winners.

Harrison College: Scholarships – Maymuneh Elcock, Ella Emtage-Deane, Nathan Walker, Amelia Valdez, Jemma Evelyn, Toby Warren.

Harrison College: Exhibitioners – Dane Forde, Zainab Patel, Nicholas Phillips, Jasmine Simmons, Luke Thompson, Alyssa Torrence, Micah Williams, Simiya Allen, Hallie Skinner.

Queen’s College: Scholarships – Ayana Robinson, Jaden Whitelaw, Zuri Connell, Jordyn Donawa, Jada Pascall.

Queen’s College: Exhibitioners – Ethan Ellis, Kenya Franklyn, Jeremy King, Joshua Millar, Makenzaé Hinkson, Satera Yarde, Hanna Ashby, Netanya Bradshaw.

The St Michael School: Scholarship – Janae-Joy Browne.

The St Michael School: Exhibitioners – Rashawn Griffith, Asha King.

Foundation: Exhibitioner – Destini Cummings.

Barbados Community College: Exhibitioner – Ajada Pilgrim.

Barbados Community College: Award of Excellence – Tori Gaskin.
