Adrian Maynard stood on the international podium once more for Barbados when he captured a silver medal at the highly competitive Under-20 Pan American Wrestling Championships on Sunday in Santiago, Chile.

A student of the Alleyne School, Maynard once again showcased his best talent on the world stage with a really good performance, slamming Raul Unzueta Torres of Mexico (3-0) and Oscar Barrios Rochez of Honduras (3-2) in the 80-kilogramme category.

This latest achievement bettered the bronze Maynard won last year at the same event.

“Once again, it’s an honour to come back home with another Pan American Championship medal. This time it’s silver and another great accomplishment for me and my country, knowing that Barbados is on the big stage,” Maynard told NATIONSPORT. (ML)
